Jean Viennet from an old family of wine growers and artists has two passions : wine and painting.

While he was a student in Paris Jean Viennet spent his afternoons painting and drawing at the well known Grande Chaumière and at Academy Julian. His teachers were Yves Brayer and the engraver Friedlander, as well as Salvador Dali. No doubt, Jean Viennet would take care of the family vineyards, but he would also paint.

Insolence, joyfulness, provocation, all these words tempt to explain Jean Viennet's painting full of humanity, humour and mischief. […] Ink drawings, nudes and strong colours bring us toward a powerful, expressive and dary work. […]. Jean Viennet provokes but his art let come to light a happy character which seems essential. Jean Viennet's painting is the discovery of a powerful talent which evidently rises towards horizons even more surprising.

"The painting remains the visible of my subconscience. It allows the spectator, as in all Art, to let his obscure thoughts emerge. If I would tempt to classify my work, I would say : figurative, astonishing, lightly crazy and colourful, provoking may be, but isn't it the proper of a painter ! "
